About

This blog is a consolidation of  years of experience as an Identity Theft Seminar Presenter, and from accredited training as an Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist.

I have worked for the Better Business Bureau, with local police, and other local organizations to provide much needed education on the very serious, and broad subject of Identity Theft.

After attending a few identity theft seminars, it was very apparent that the education currently available to the public is incomplete.  They received just enough information to make them feel good. People were leaving presentations with a false sense of security.  They honestly believed they could now totally protect their identity by shredding, not giving out personal information, and not leaving mail out front.

Undeniably, we need to do a better job of protecting  our personal information in our immediate environment, and this blog will have a dedicated section to help us reduce our risks of ID theft.

However, bottom line, we can do all the common-sense protective procedures, and still become victims of identity theft, because we have no control over security breaches and how businesses handle our private information.

The fact that we can do all the right things and still fall prey to Identity theft  is  scary.  The intention of this blog is not to scare you into paralysis.

The purpose of Identity Theft Risks Exposed is to provide a clear and  braod picture of  identity theft .  With proper knowledge, we make better decisions.  Better decisions equal better choices, which diminish probability of bad things happening.

Sometimes, no matter what we do, bad things happen anyway.   Do you have a safety net in place, just in case?  Do you know what protective services are available, and which is best for you?  You will learn the distinctions between credit monitoring, insurance policies, resolution and restoration, so you can make the best choice to fit your needs.

We have all heard the expression “Knowledge is Power.”  And it is very true here.  The more knowledge you have on the subject of identity theft, the better armed you can be to fight back against this silent and potentially devastating crime.
